Ashley Chung

Early Childhood Music Education Program Director

Introduction

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ashley graduated with the highest honors in her Master’s (Recipient of Scholastic Award 2022) and Bachelor’s degree (first class) in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, where she studied the piano with Dr. Cheung Pang Jane and Dr. Sophia Yang.

She enjoys working particularly with children. Having taught various music programs at Hong Kong Professional Piano Education Academy and Hong Kong Music Office over the years, Ashley has devoted herself into early childhood music education. Apart from being a certified Musikgarten teacher (18 months to 8 years old), she is also the founder and director of the Music Preparatory Program and Music Taster Program at Seed Music Academy, where she adopts the Kodaly and Dalcroze approaches into her classes, as she strongly believes that the connection between singing and movements is the key to raising a musical child.

Apart from western classical music, Ashley is also into world musics. She is currently studying the santur (Persian hammered dulcimer) with Iranian musician and composer Mr. Sepehr Rafiiean, and has performed publically both in ensembles and as a soloist.
