Ciyin Zhou

Chinese-born violinist Ciyin Zhou is a dedicated music educator and performer with a deep commitment to the Suzuki philosophy. She holds a Master of Music degree from the Hartt School, where she also earned her Bachelor of Music, and completed her Suzuki Pedagogy training as part of her graduate studies.

Ms. Zhou's performance career has taken her across three continents. She has appeared as a substitute musician with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in prestigious venues and festivals including the Vienna Golden Hall, the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy, and cultural events at the Embassy of Switzerland in China.

Her international competition record includes top prizes at the Los Angeles International Young Artists Competition and the Germany-China Youth Music Competition, held in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, where she also served as concertmaster of the award-winning orchestra.

As an educator, Ms. Zhou is a passionate advocate for early childhood music education. Her Suzuki Pedagogy training, combined with her extensive performance background, informs a teaching approach that emphasizes technical foundation, musical expression, and the development of each student's unique voice. She has served as a Graduate Assistant in the string department at Hartt, as an adjudicator for high school music competitions, and maintains a private teaching studio.

Ms. Zhou is thrilled to join the faculty at Seed Music Academy, where she looks forward to nurturing the next generation of young musicians in Hong Kong.
